CROXTON MOLEMAX CENTRE: 4 Robbs Parade, Northcote Victoria 3070, Tel: 03- 9489 3900 The Croxton Medical Centre has a long history and was established in 1985. Its location has remained unchanged, being located in Robbs Parade Northcote. Apart for a small period in early 2001 when the practice relocated during refurbishments to the Darebin Community Health Centre, it has returned to its present site in July 2001. This was an ideal time for restructuring of the practice in accordance to current accreditation standards set down by AGPAL. It was also an ideal opportunity for our staff and doctors to work in close liaison within a community health centre and thus co-operate with many facets of community health care and allied health personnel. Close support and co-operation was forthcoming from the local divisions of general practice. Their tireless help and advice was much appreciated during this transition period. Its principal doctor is Dr Chris Clifopoulos who established this practice shortly after completing his training as a resident doctor in St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He then obtained his equivalent qualification in Athens Greece. Dr Chris Clifopoulos obtained his First Part qualification training for the Royal Australasian College of Dermatology in 1995. He has also completed a postgraduate diploma of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 1997 at the University of Melbourne. From July 2001 the Croxton Medical centre will continue to operate from its original premises at 4 Robbs Parade, Northcote and will cater for the needs of the local community. Dr Chris Clifopoulos continued to run his regular informative radio health programme on 3XY 1422 on midday Friday for the previous 6 years. He is also a guest on 3AK at regular intervals discussing health issues. His main interest areas remain skin disease, migrant health issues and community health. As of July 2005 the practice has specialised in the area of skin cancer diagnosis and melanoma recognition in particular. It has full skin imaging capabilities and has fully integrated this with general patient care. The latest skin imaging computers are utilised and Dr Chris Clifopoulos currently educates other doctors on these techniques. Dr Chris Clifopoulos is a member of the Skin Cancer Society of Australia. Dr. Clifopoulos can be contacted by phoning his practice directly on 03-9489 3900 (Fax: 94890043) or via Email at chris@croxtonmedicalcentre.com.au |
